To attend the social event of the summer, while raising money for the Hoag Cancer Center in memories of Sally Peterson, mother of cofounder Clay Peterson, and Grant Baldwin, long time friend of cofounder Johnny McCray, who both lost their battle with cancer in 2005. The Wood Racquet Classic is the perfect opportunity to elevate your socioeconomic status while maintaining your core underground values that have historically served you so well... Or... Maybe just to drink and laugh with friends. Champagne and cocktails will be provided. Catered plates will be served. Those that wish to take a dip in the pool are encouraged to don a bathing suit.
Admission is mandatory $20 donation to the Hoag Cancer Center. We encourage you to RSVP online, so the donation is $25 dollars at the door on the day of the event. For the players, the entry fee is $50 per player, which includes the $20 donation.
All registered teams and contributors will receive complete access to the luxuriously furnished players lounge along with VIP passes. Please extend the invite to your closest of friends to witness a once in a lifetime chance to see past entrants like Brian Bowen, Sam Lovell, Mark Simpson and Joe Maculroy go head-to-head for the Wood Racquet Tennis Classic Championship Title.
Traditional tennis attire inspired by all-time tennis favorites such as Fred Perry, John McEnroe, Vitas Gerulaitis, and Bjorn Borg is strongly encouraged. Social guests would please “the society” by wearing outfits resembling a Wimbledon audience circa 1952. Remember a blazer with shorts or a skirt and penny loafers is not necessarily a bad look. Prizes for best dressed team and spectator will be awarded.
